Artificial intelligence (AI) statement
We strongly recommend that you do not use AI tools to help you understand your Annual Benefit Statement (ABS) or any other communications sent to you regarding your membership of the LGPS with Camden, Merton, Richmond, Waltham Forest, or Wandsworth Pension Fund (‘the Fund’).
Why this matters
The information included in your ABS is complex and nuanced (although we work to make it as clear and accessible as possible). It may seem a good idea to use an AI tool to help you understand it, but it is possible this will give you confusing, misleading, or incorrect information. The output it provides will not be tailored to you, your circumstances, the rules and regulations applying to the Fund, or the Fund’s administrative practices.
If the AI tool provides you with misleading information that you rely on to your detriment, it is very unlikely that you will be able to recover any compensation from the AI provider. We accept no liability for any member’s loss caused as a result of their misuse of AI. We therefore also recommend that you do not rely solely on AI to make decisions relating to your pension with the Fund.
Using publicly available AI tools may also put your private and confidential data at risk as any sensitive information you enter may inadvertently be illegally shared. There is a risk it may be accessed if the AI provider is hacked in the future. This is another reason we strongly recommend you do not use AI tools to understand Fund communications.
Help and advice
If you have questions about your ABS, any correspondence from the Fund, or anything else in connection with the Fund, please contact us directly.
If you need financial advice, you should speak to an independent financial adviser (IFA).
